‘Knox’ Hadmon laid to rest
Local basketball legend, Stanislaus Fitzgerald 'Knox' Hadmon (inset), who passed away on August 30, was yesterday laid to rest at the Victoria Village cemetery on the East Coast of Demerara. In the first Open encounter since the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) restarted its Open and Division Three Leagues under the Pepsi Street Basketball Series and Playoffs banner, Bounty Colts basketball team administered a 14-point defeat on Colours Panthers. Panthers and the Colts took centre court Saturday night at the Burnham Basketball Court in the Open category which ended with the Colts trampling the Panthers 74-60 thereby avenging their Division Three loss to the Panthers ....Read more
GDF, Nets and Ravens record wins I Pepsi Street Series basketball playoffs
THE Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Dyna’s Ravens and Nets third division teams were the latest in winners’ row when the Guyana Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Pepsi Street Series Basketball Playoffs continued on Tuesday night at the Burnham Basketball Court. The night saw the army team come from behind to defeat the Nets 49-40 in the opening encounter then Ravens outplayed Melanie Patriots 63-59 in the feature match. Read more
