Linden staged a 24-8 run to steal game 1 from Georgetown in the best of 3 friendly series as home court was not a factor.
It may have been a friendly game, but rivalry was in the air and it smelled for miles away in Queens, NY. Linden struck first blood and with 5 minutes into the game led the City Boys 12-4. Georgetown regrouped and made strategic substitutions and took the lead at the 7 minute mark in the first half and never looked back. Wilfred Branch from Georgetown was unstoppable in the first half as he showed his low post presence with a mini clinic on any defender that Linden threw his way. Georgetown closed the half with a comfortable 8 points lead at 42-34.

IGG basketball team selectees to begin three-day camp in Kwakwani today
The selectees for the Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) basketball team that will represent Guyana in the basketball events of the 2010 IGG, which will be held on November 19-21 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, will be heading to Kwakwani today for a three-day training camp. The encampment of the squad, starting today, is geared towards  their IGG preparation process, according to the team manager and coordinator Chris Bowman, who spoke to Stabroek Sport when contacted via telephone last evening.Read more
Almost doesn’t count! I President’s Xii surrender series after dramatic ot loss to dc Jammers

Time had almost expired. Darcel Harris almost made it through the lane untouched. The officials almost did not call the foul and when Harris stepped up to the line with the game tied at 65-65, he almost hit both free throws to even the series against the DC Jammers. But almost did not hap pen, and in reality the DC Jammers went on the win 80-73 in overtime (OT) after a nail-biting thriller to clinch the Godwin McPherson Memorial Basketball Series at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Monday night.
