Sonics criticizes basketball in Georgetown | Says sport being plundered for personal benefits

Sonics Basketball Club has criticized the state of the sport in Georgetown
and believes that there are individuals within the hierarchy of the City’s
sub-association who are responsible for stymieing its development. The club
disclosed its reservations in a statement to Kaieteur Sport yesterday.
Holisworth Casey signed the document, which claims that the administrators
of basketball in the City have somewhat monopolized the sport.

Khanhai leads MHS’ onslaught against Charlestown Secondary | BHS pummel Queen’s College 77-14

Khanhai, Mackenzie High School’s offensive turret, led his team to a
41-point victory over Charlestown Secondary in the Under-19 category as the
National School’s Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued on Tuesday at the
Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. MHS led for the entire duration of the game
ending the first half with a 39-8 point margin in their favour. They
subsequently dismissed Charlestown with a final score of 70-29 to end the
day’s competition.

champions Linden Technical Institute (LTI) made a successful start to their
title defence after narrowly getting past Bishops’ High School 40-39
yesterday on day two of the National Schools Basketball Festival (NSBF) at
the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Led by junior national shooting guard Orin
Rose Jr., LTI squandered a seven-point lead (24-17) at the end of the first
half thanks to some constant pressure by the city school.
